When we finish a website for a client, the next issue is often email. We recommend our clients sign up for google apps. It is $50 a year per email, and allows you to separate your email from your web hosting. Fully supported by google and extremely reliable, managed in the cloud instead of on a server, tons of space (25GB) and all the cool gmail functionality.
But this post isn’t about google apps, it’s about adding your custom email address to your gmail account. For example, my custom email address is jason (-at-) webmanna.com. I manage all my incoming and outgoing email via gmail. So I can send and receive as Jason@webmanna.com or one of the many other domain based email addresses I have, all managed in one gmail account.
Here is a video tutorial on how to add your custom email address to your gmail account.
