Creating a site, and developing it to rank well, and tweaking it to better serve your customers, and managing it to grow and…all that work gives you the best possible chance to make it on the web. But…even then it might not get you and your site where you want to go. The whole search world grows organically and impacts who your site is on the www.

Many sites you are competing against are doing the same things you are to be the best. This competition against other sites clouds what could be a clear sky. Are their sites older? Do they have more backlinks? Do the spiders like their content more than yours? Working on your site isn’t enough. You need to know what you are up against.

As many people have discovered through the years with Google and Yahoo, you can be on top one minute and gone the next. Sometimes for obvious reason like link farming, keyword stuffing, broken links, or black hat techniques. There was a time when sites could use doorway pages or cloaking and make it to the top. Updates to search engine algorithms sent those sites to the trash heap. Next, keyword stuffing, then backlink manipulation, each of the techniques working for a time and then with a sickening thud, sites using these practices dropped out of site.

With search engine algorithms changing often, and so much competition for your piece of the web pie, it pays to have an SEO pro in your corner. With so much impacting your sites rankings, you don’t want to just leave it to chance. Find a pro, with proven results, and give your site the help it needs. It won’t matter if a butterfly flaps it’s wings somewhere else, because your site will have all the right elements to stay on top.
